What a time to be alive. We live in a time where talking about mental issues is becoming a lot more common and accepted. At one point it might’ve been viewed in a negative way or even seen as being soft. Especially when it comes to males. Suicide statistics in the United States are very much male dominated. Men’s mental health isn’t hardly taken as seriously as it should and it’s an issue that we need to continue to shine light on. Today we have the honor of presenting an artist whose main objective for creating music, is to ensure to other’s dealing with suicidal thoughts or depression, that they are not alone. Ladies and Gentlemen give it up for the young and talented, DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) Monster! An artist who’s felt lost most of his life but discovered something that would inspire him to start making music back in middle school. Tupac Shakur. He mentioned how vivid his storytelling was and how he felt like 2pac was someone who had it figured out. That inspiration turned into creating his very own music career. Having an outlet to share his feelings and emotions was very important to DNR. Making sure that others who are suffering through similar situations know that they’re not the only ones. There’s true comfort in knowing that other people know exactly how you feel even if you don’t know them personally. DNR just brought his single “Selfish” to life with a music video directed by our very own Splashthakidd. It’s a cinematic visual that captures the vibe of the song right on the dot. Not only did he shoot that video, but just 3 short days ago he released his newest single titled “13th Reason”. DNR is really beginning to pick up steam and all of us here at the Bakery are excited to see where his talents will take him!
